Another New Adventure
So my feeling of accomplishment after being accepted in law school and surviving the first year with three kids, a husband and being the "older" person in class has proven to me that I can accomplish anything if I set my mind to it.
This summer I chose not to do a law school clinic like most of my fellow law students. Quite honestly I missed my family this past year. I spent countless hours at the law school, in the law library and at home on my couch by myself late at night after everyone had gone to sleep. Law school is no joke and I don't thing halfway. By the time summer rolled around I was pretty burnt out. Our youngest child is 2 years old and I missed way too much time with him this year. Our older 2 children are involved in activities and I had to pick and choose. I could no longer be the mom who attended everything. I had to balance their schedules with law school. I felt bad and had a hard time missing some of their activities but my husband and our family is making huge sacrifices (financially and emotionally) for me to attend law school so that's what had to be done. So we made the decision to spend the summer focusing on our family and taking a break from law school.
Before law school finals, one of my college friends had posted on Facebook stuff about Nerium. I saw it but didn't really pay attention. Then for some reason, the posts kept standing out to me. Then I heard a friend at law school talking about Nerium. Why was this "Nerium" stuff standing out to me? Why was everyone talking about it? I'm in my thirties and don't have wrinkles..okay, okay I had one on my forehead. And quite honestly I had looked in the mirror and at my hands a few times and started to notice that I was starting to "look" older. I contacted my friend and asked for a sample but she's in NYC and I'm in the midwest. We agreed that I would sign up as a preferred customer (you get a discount!) and if I didn't like it I could get a refund. So after a couple months of researching Nerium, I decided to try it.
My NeriumAD night cream arrived. I had dry, red-patches, flaky skin, sun damage spots and lines on my forehead. I didn't have a lot of confidence in the product but thought, what do I have to lose? Only bad skin. :) Within a couple of days, my skin was so smooth and even, that pictures cannot even tell the story. My skin has never felt the way that it does now. I immediately fell in love and thought oh my goodness, I have to tell people about this amazing product. Then I started researching the possibilities of joining Nerium as a Brand Partner. I'm in law school so I know how to research and I'm not afraid to read long lengthy materials. (I think I read about 20,000 pages this past year in law school) I tried a MLM a few years ago and it was a disaster. The products were good but the compensation was a racket. It pretty much ruined my thoughts about multi-level-marketing companies. HOWEVER, Nerium seemed different to me. The team atmosphere, a product that works, the money the company invests in happiness and self improvement of their brand partners, money that's given to charity. the focus on people (customers and brand partners), I figured I'd take the leap of faith and join. After all I figured worst case scenario, I'd have a few months supply of NeriumAD from my kit.
The day I joined Nerium, I knew our lives were changing. I had access to an amazing website and materials immediately. It was nothing like the other MLM that we had joined. There was online training, phone calls from several teammates in our organization, a group Facebook page with tons of warm wishes, positive encouragement, and more. I knew I made the right decision. The company was EXACTLY what I had read online and hoped it would be.
Now I'm a Brand Partner and helping others discover Nerium products and build their own business with Nerium. Here are my results, my husband's results and a friend's results. I cannot wait to see our 90-day results!

Action is the key to your goals.
In January 2013, I was doing my annual review with my boss and had to come up with my list of personal goals for 2013. I was in a senior management position and really reached the ceiling at my job. As I sat and contemplated my goals, I knew that even though I enjoyed my job and my coworkers, I needed more. I had been in the same position for 9 years and no matter how much additional work I took on, I was craving more. More time with my family, more money, more knowledge, more of a challenge. I could comfortably stay in the same job for a very long time. I didn't want "comfortable". I wanted to travel, spend time with my kids, buy my dream house...
So it was a long shot but I took the LSAT in February 2013 and sent off my application to law school the day before the deadline. I got accepted and made the decision to leave work and attend school full-time in July. This was a huge decision for myself, my husband and our three kids. Returning to school at the age of 35 was scary. I was stepping out of my office, my comfort zone, and my comfortable friends at work. I was heading into a scary new world. New experiences, new people, new education.
Now I've finished my first year of law school and I look back with a sense of accomplishment. I survived and I'm pursuing one of those things in life that I always wondered if I could do.
